Like you and others have said, longer and harder paths are really less valuable now, and thats really bad tbh. It doesn't really simplify the reward system at all, you still have to go through multiple dialogue options to get to the dungeon reward you want, you still have to go to LA in a random old corner to convert your currency, and theres still 10 tabs of different dungeons at the merchant.
